International Students Gather at Zhejiang University for Exchange

International Students Gather at Zhejiang University for Exchange

From May 18 to 20, 2025, an academic gathering took place at Zhejiang University, where over 100 high-level international students from 19 universities in the Yangtze River Delta came together. Participating institutions included prestigious names such as Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanjing University, and the University of Science and Technology of China, all converging at the picturesque Zijingang Campus for this event.

The exchange organized a series of academic activities aimed at enhancing the research capabilities and academic literacy of international students. These activities encompassed special reports presented by international student mentors, academic presentations for students, themed academic salons, and an exhibition of academic posters. Each component contributed to the overarching goal of fostering collaboration and quality in academic training.

One significant aspect of the event was the special reports delivered by selected mentors from notable institutions. Representing the University of Science and Technology of China, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the China Academy of Art, these four experts provided valuable insights on conducting scientific research, enhancing academic skills, and guiding international students in their learning journeys.

In parallel, the academic reports for international students were organized into four subject-specific venues focusing on various fields: science and technology, medicine, agriculture, and the humanities and social sciences. This setup allowed attendees to engage in focused discussions and exchanges within their areas of expertise, enriching their academic experiences.

The themed academic salon facilitated discussions on crucial topics such as intercultural scientific research collaboration, the challenges and opportunities within China's research landscape, and leveraging AI to enhance research efficiency. Students formed discussion groups based on shared interests, cultivating an atmosphere of idea exchange and collective growth.

Additionally, an international student academic poster exhibition offered participants the chance to showcase their research accomplishments. This presentation not only highlighted individual students’ achievements but also underscored the high-quality academic training available to international scholars in the Yangtze River Delta.

Each segment of the event was meticulously designed to cater to the characteristics and needs of high-level international students, promoting deep participation. Attendees had opportunities to learn from their mentors, present their work, and foster academic innovation. This format facilitated mutual learning among young scholars from the region, drawing widespread acclaim from all participants.

Apart from the rich academic exchange, international students were invited to experience the vibrant modernity of Hangzhou. They toured innovative high-tech enterprises, immersing themselves in the contemporary Chinese context shaped by new advancements in productivity.
