Second Batch of Courses for Study Tour in China Announced

"Stark landscapes contrasting tradition and modernity."

The Ministry of Education's Study Abroad Service Center has unveiled the second batch of courses for the "Study Tour in China" initiative. This initiative is designed to enhance the "Study in China" brand and contribute to the goal of constructing a "strong education nation." The overarching aim is to elevate the quality and relevance of study abroad programs, ensuring that they meet the evolving needs of international students.

To date, a total of 25 courses has been successfully introduced into the "Study Abroad in China" curriculum, with several already in operation and generating positive results. The Ministry encourages relevant stakeholders to reach out and submit additional courses, adhering to the established "Measures for the Development and Construction of 'Study Abroad in China' Courses." This step is pivotal in addressing the demands of both national development and global academic interests.

In pursuit of a robust curriculum system, universities are urged to harness their unique regional strengths and disciplinary advantages. By creating a cohesive approach, institutions can jointly develop themed courses that resonate with cultural, historical, and educational significance. For instance, universities located in Shandong may focus on the Qi-Lu cultural system, whereas those in Shaanxi may concentrate on the San-Qin and Han-Tang cultural systems.

Courses are expected to cover a diverse range of topics, including but not limited to regional cultural studies, engineering disciplines, technical innovations, arts, economics and management, environmental sustainability, and health sciences. This comprehensive categorization ensures that students receive a holistic educational experience that integrates various fields of knowledge.

The Study Abroad Service Center will facilitate evaluations by experts based on the course development proposals received from universities. This process will bolster the establishment of a comprehensive course database, supporting the ongoing optimization of the curriculum offerings.

To maintain quality, an exit mechanism will be implemented for courses already included in the database, informed by their implementation status and overall quality. This measure ensures that only effective and relevant courses are provided to international students.

Interested parties are invited to submit their course outlines by the deadline of October 19, 2025. Detailed submissions can be sent to the designated email address cscse@studyinchina.edu.cn.

For further assistance, entities can consult the guidelines for course development and standards provided in the attachments, which include the "Study Tour in China" Course Standards and the "Study Abroad in China" Course Development Plan.

This initiative, announced by the Ministry of Education's Study Abroad Service Center on September 17, 2025, aims to ensure that the curriculum remains relevant and engaging for students from diverse backgrounds. Institutions are encouraged to contact the center with any queries at the provided consultation phone number.

As this initiative unfolds, it promises not only to enrich the offerings for international students in China but also to foster a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and society, thereby enhancing the overall educational experience.
